Twitter closes an account linked to the Iranian leader .. The reason is Trump

Twitter suspended on Saturday an account linked to Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, following the publication of a video clip related to the killing of Qassem Soleimani, apparently targeting former US President Donald Trump.

"This account has been permanently suspended for violating our rules," a Twitter spokesperson told AFP.

This week, the "Khamenei Sight" account published an animated video simulating revenge against Donald Trump, who two years ago ordered a strike that killed Soleimani, who is responsible for foreign operations in the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.

And this account is not the still active English main of Supreme Leader khamenei_ir, but a multimedia account reporting his activities.

Last year, a similar account was suspended by Twitter for posting a similar video.

Twitter considers protecting people and the content of conversations on the social network an absolute priority.

The social network shows a clear policy regarding abusive behavior and pledges to continue to intervene in the event of violations.
