According to RIA Novosti, under the new rules, all Ukrainian print media can now be published and distributed in a foreign language only if a circulation in the state language is simultaneously published.

It is clarified that in each place of distribution of the publication in Ukrainian should be at least 50% of the entire range.

On January 16, 2021, provisions came into force obliging residents of Ukraine to use only the Ukrainian language in the service sector.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Ukrainian authorities are squeezing out Russians and the Russian-speaking population from their historical territories, including with the help of laws on indigenous peoples and on language.

Prior to this, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov drew attention to the inadmissibility of discrimination against the Russian-speaking population in Ukraine.
