Italian police accuse nurse of 'emptying' vaccine syringe out of arms

Italian police have arrested a nurse in Sicily on suspicion of providing evidence that she vaccinated people when she did not actually vaccinate them against COVID-19, in a fraud offered to those who oppose vaccination.

The nurse is accused of injecting a couple who oppose vaccination, using only the syringe without using the vial containing the vaccine.

In a security video, the nurse is seen emptying an entire syringe into a piece of cloth, then placing the syringe in the upper part of someone's arm.

Police had arrested another nurse from the same vaccination center for pretending to vaccinate 11 people using a similar method in December 2021.

The police stated that among those vaccinated in this way was a prominent member of the local anti-vaccination movement.

The two women face charges of official misconduct and issuing false certificates, among other charges.

And in Italy, people who are vaccinated against Covid-19 get a digital certificate that is now required to participate in a large part of public life, including traveling by bus or going to restaurants.
