Previously, the home quarantine was valid for five days for those who live with someone who has covid-19.

On the fifth day, one would coronate oneself, to then be able to return to work.

You are now asked to stay at home for seven days from the day the infected person left their sample, and not to be tested.

- From today, you do not need to test yourself on the fifth day in the household quarantine if you do not have symptoms, says Mats Martinell.

The change does not apply to staff in health care and elderly care, who must still submit tests before returning to work.

- Since not everyone who wants to get tested can do so, we must prioritize people who work in health care and elderly care.

Test without sticks

Due to a lack of sampling sticks, another change is taking place regarding sampling.

In the next few days, those who turn to Kungsgärdet's health center for PCR tests will also be allowed to submit spit samples, to investigate whether it is a reliable test method to use in the future, which UNT was the first to report.

- We want to take a few hundred such samples and if we get 80 percent agreement;

that is, that both the sampling stick and the spit sample show covid-19, we consider it to be safe.

The method was tested in a lab already this spring, but it is only now that there is a sharp situation - because sticks are barely available.

The testing will last until Monday and then a decision will be made.
