- Where the military transport comes from or where it is going, I can not comment on that, says Marie Tisäter, communicator on duty at the Armed Forces.

Highway 73 leads to Nynäshamn, where boat traffic to Gotland departs and the Swedish Armed Forces' guard platoon has been patrolling the port of Visby since Friday morning.

But whether the military convoy is on its way to Gotland or not, the defense does not want to answer.

- It's operational secrecy.

Then we do not want the information to arrive too early.

We can comment when this transport arrives.

Does it have to do with the effort on Gotland?

- I can not comment on that.

According to Trafikredaktionen on Swedish Radio, the convoy must have started at 17.00 and moved south.

- It has not arrived yet, says Marie Tisäter at 20.00.

Reinforcement with transport aircraft

To TT, the Swedish Armed Forces confirms that the military transport aircraft C17 recently landed on Gotland.

TT: Will Gotland be strengthened with forces from other parts of the country?

- Yes, it has already happened.

A couple of hours ago, a C17 landed at Visby airport with personnel and materiel, says Therese Fagerstedt, press secretary at the Swedish Armed Forces.

Sources: More than 100 soldiers

According to sources to Dagens Nyheter, the transport plane comes from Kallax in Norrbotten, where it was loaded with over 100 soldiers in the 19th Regiment.

However, some of the staff must have driven a car and passed Stockholm, on their way to the Gotland ferry in Nynäshamn.
