In the Social Democratic Party leader election, the re-election of Fukushima leader was decided without a vote.

With the rebirth of the party an issue, the summer Upper House election will be a crucial moment to maintain the party requirements under the Public Offices Election Act.

The Social Democratic Party has been quietly divided over the merger with the Constitutional Democratic Party, and the number of members of the Diet has decreased from four to two, and 30% of all party members have left the party, making the party's rebirth an issue.

Under these circumstances, the Social Democratic Party leader election was announced on the 14th, and there was no notification of candidacy other than the Fukushima party leader, and Mr. Fukushima's re-election was decided without a vote.

At a press conference, Mr. Fukushima stated his determination, "There are important things that only the Social Democratic Party can do, such as not letting Article 9 of the Constitution change.

Mr. Fukushima wants to expand his support by traveling all over the country and appealing to the party's policies to be close to socially vulnerable people.

On the other hand, depending on the outcome of the upper house election in the summer, the party requirements under the Public Offices Election Act will be lost, which will be a crucial moment for the Social Democratic Party.
