The hull will be towed through the Corsica Canal and is expected to reach its final destination in four days.

Survivors, along with tourists and locals, had gathered on the small island of Giglio to say a final goodbye.

- We hope that many of our emotions (from the disaster night) will disappear with the boat.

We hope we can move on, said one of the survivors.

32 people lost their lives when Costa Concordia, twice the size of the Titanic, ran aground and capsized just outside Giglio in January 2012.
