French presidential election 2022: Anne Hidalgo wants to put workers at the heart of her program

Socialist candidate Anne Hidalgo, still struggling in the polls, has decided to go back to basics by putting the issue of work and a series of measures on the subject at the heart of her project.

Anne Hidalgo presented this Thursday, January 13 to the press her program for the presidential election.

Seventy proposals in all with a priority on labor reform.

The socialist candidate plans to revalue the SMIC, one of its flagship measures up to 15%, or 200 euros net per month and repeal the reform of unemployment insurance.

To reduce salary differences, Anne Hidalgo proposes limiting remuneration in companies by setting up a gap of 1 to 20. Regarding teachers, the candidate no longer mentions a doubling of their salary, but an upgrade to that frames. 

The current mayor of Paris also wants to look into working conditions by restoring, for example, the four categories of hardship removed by the outgoing president: handling heavy loads, painful postures, mechanical vibrations and exposure to chemical agents. .

Regarding working time, she wants to encourage companies “

to move towards reduction

”. 

As for pensions, the presidential candidate wants to maintain the legal retirement age at 62.
