Whether they are very small or a little older, children sometimes have great difficulty falling asleep.

Invited to "Benefit for you" on Europe 1, pediatrician Arnault Pfersdorff delivered four magic tricks to easily make them fall into the arms of Morpheus.

Anxiety, digestive disorders, need for attention... There are several reasons why a child does not fall asleep quickly.

Invited in "Bienfait pour vous" on Europe 1, pediatrician Arnault Pfersdorff delivered four unstoppable tips to make it easier for toddlers and slightly older children to fall asleep...

Co-sleeping but not beyond six months

Co-sleeping is a very good solution for the first months of an infant's life.

But beware: beyond six months, this option loses its effectiveness.

Indeed, if the mother is breastfeeding, the baby smells of milk throughout the room.

"It's like us when we walk into a pizzeria. We sit down, the pizza smells good, we're hungry, we sit down and we don't place an order. We're going to have the fangs", explains Arnault with humor Pfersdorff, pediatrician.

The baby lives with the senses, with the sense of smell, skin to skin, etc... And this situation can drive him crazy.

If he's in his room, it's a little easier.

Don't let cry

We must not say to ourselves: "it's a whim, it will pass".

The more the child will cry, the more he will lose confidence.

You have to be next to him right away.

He will smell our scent and our presence.

Eventually, if that's not enough, you put your hand on your stomach, you caress it.

And, as a very last resort, we will take him in his arms.

Avoid spending too much time telling stories

Don't stop telling stories to your children, but spend less time there if you want them to fall asleep quickly.

Indeed, stories stimulate them and therefore keep them awake.

Make the child's room cozy

Try to spend time in the child's room, without taking care of him.

We get on the ground, he plays, we are next to him and, as a result, he is relaxed.

He does not secrete cortisol, he is quiet.

In the evening, when we go to bed, we don't tell him: "we're going to bed" but we do the same thing again.

This time we are in the dark.

You can use a Montessori-type mattress on the ground.
