A unique experience... and various tastes of the "magic drink" from the East and West, experienced by coffee lovers, through the "World of Coffee" exhibition, which will continue for three days under the roof of the Dubai Exhibition Center at "Expo 2020 Dubai".

The World of Coffee - which was launched the day before yesterday, and is organized for the first time in the Middle East and the Arab world - offers, through its various sections, a golden opportunity to learn about the latest innovations in the world of preparing and tasting coffee, and to meet entrepreneurs and lovers around the world, in addition to enjoying first-hand A set of tournaments and special competitions.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Specialized Coffee Association in the UAE, Khaled Al Mulla, revealed that Dubai won the hosting of the "World of Coffee" exhibition for the next three years, under the supervision of "DXB Live", which specializes in providing event services, affiliated with the Dubai World Trade Center, The next sessions of the event will be organized in the emirate.

He said: “The role of this type of specialized exhibition goes beyond simply introducing participants to the types of coffee and the latest technologies used in its preparation, to inform them of the new opportunities and future prospects that these events can offer, which bet on the goals of moving from the level of commercial coffee to the level of specialized coffee, and providing workshops Approved for small and medium businesses, as well as cafe and hotel owners, coffee lovers and tasters all over the world.”

Al Mulla expressed his happiness with the interaction and the great attendance that the exhibition achieved since its inception, as it exceeded on its first day more than 4000 visitors, adding to "Emirates Today": "This number is a clear indication of the position enjoyed by coffee, both at the level of the Emirates, which is considered Coffee is an essential pillar of authentic Arab hospitality, or in terms of the keenness of coffee lovers and coffee makers, to participate and learn about new opportunities, and the possibilities that can be benefited from, especially since the exhibition is being held between the corridors of (Expo 2020 Dubai), and with a clear presence from most of the pavilions of the participating countries. .

Competitions and tournaments

On the UAE's Specialized Coffee Association, Al Mulla explained that it "organizes six competitions, two of which are currently taking place at the World of Coffee exhibition, the first (tasting national coffee), and the second (national pitcher)."

He added: “A specialized jury comprising local and international members monitors the performance of each contestant, while he is given 15 minutes to prepare the coffee in a classic way first, and then prepare it in his own way and his unique style that bears his signature with multiple flavors, in addition to the necessity of observing health and safety standards, and an adequate explanation of the method Preparation and characterization of the degree of taste and flavour.

He stopped at the role played by the Specialized Coffee Association in the Emirates, and its keenness to invest in people through the experiences of specialized courses in coffee preparation, roasting, distillation and tasting, as well as courses that introduce the history of coffee and the spread of coffee around the world: Coffee, the places of cultivation, the different heights and their impact on the quality of green coffee, and through which the degrees of roasting, the skills of dealing with coffee, and the comprehensive knowledge of coffee arts in general are known.”

Latest technology

For his part, Ahmed Taher Al Qari, who represents Kahraman Dubai’s pavilion in “The World of Coffee”, stressed the importance of attending the exhibition, which, thanks to the presence of this large number of experts and specialists, will contribute to exchanging experiences and being open to the experiences of others, and then seeing the latest Technologies in the coffee industry worldwide, adding: “With our presence in the UAE since 1990, as one of the largest importers of coffee, roasting and distributing it in the Arab Gulf countries, I believe that the exhibition will constitute an important addition to all coffee lovers and manufacturers in the Emirates, as it includes throughout its days. The three are events, activities and real opportunities for exchanging experiences, and making successful deals in the field, in addition to tasting different types of coffee, and learning about the latest methods of preparing it and new experiences in this field.”

For his part, the Director of Operations at Cafe Netd, which is headquartered in Abu Dhabi, Michel Marco, stressed that their presence in this exhibition is of special importance to them.

He said: "(The World of Coffee) informs us of the latest experiences and the best expertise in this field, as well as presenting new opportunities for partnership with the pioneers in this field, and those wishing to join our world to learn about the foundations of work in it, and then lead in the field of the coffee industry and present it to the public."

An elite group of gourmets, 1000 companies and brands from 44 countries are participating in the exhibition, which is organized by DXB Live, in partnership with the Specialty Coffee Association and the branch of the Specialty Coffee Association in the UAE.

The event brings together farmers, merchants, roasters, manufacturers, distributors, small and medium businesses, cafe owners, hotels and coffee lovers from around the world.

The exhibition includes the "Roasters Village", which provides the most prominent local and international coffee roasters with the opportunity to showcase their skills in roasting and preparing coffee, presenting their latest products and innovations, as well as the tasting corner that allows exhibitors to present coffee varieties to an elite group of gourmets.

The past two days witnessed a number of sessions in the presence and participation of local and international speakers who discussed topics, including climate change and its impact on coffee prices.
