Iran rules out 'provisional deal' in nuclear talks

Such an agreement will not Meet the requirements of the Iraqi side.

  Khatibzad said at a regular press conference on the same day that all parties should strive to get the necessary assurances and verifications for the United States to return to the Iran nuclear deal, and ensure that sanctions against Iran are effectively lifted.

These cannot be achieved through an "interim agreement", and Iran is seeking a "stable and reliable" deal.

  Khatibzad said that Iran is neither pessimistic nor optimistic in the Iran nuclear negotiations, but based on realistic considerations.

The Iran nuclear talks are only to ensure a comprehensive, responsible and verifiable return to the Iran nuclear deal.

Iran does not accept any issue in the negotiations that goes beyond the framework of the Iran nuclear deal.

  Iran's deputy foreign minister and chief negotiator on the Iranian nuclear issue, Bagheri, said on the 8th that "the differences between the parties involved in the Iran nuclear deal are decreasing."

  In July 2015, Iran reached a comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue with the United States, Britain, France, Russia, China and Germany.

In May 2018, the U.S. government unilaterally withdrew from the Iran nuclear deal, and then restarted and added a series of sanctions against Iran.

Since May 2019, Iran has gradually suspended the implementation of some provisions of the Iran nuclear deal, but promised that the measures taken are "reversible".

  The parties involved in the Iran nuclear deal will start talks in Vienna, the capital of Austria, in April 2021 to discuss the resumption of compliance between the United States and Iran, and the United States indirectly participates in the negotiations.

The eighth round of negotiations was launched in Vienna on December 27, 2021.
