"At present, the command of the collective peacekeeping forces of the CSTO, together with the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, is developing a plan to transfer the facilities protected by peacekeepers to the country's law enforcement agencies," he said at a briefing.

Serdyukov added that after completing the tasks, the peacekeeping contingent will return to the points of permanent deployment by military transport aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces.

Earlier, the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, said that the country has legally applied to the CSTO, since otherwise control over Almaty could be lost.
