In front of four goals at the break (18-14), the French suffered more in defense, lacking rhythm after a chaotic preparation, and suffered the German strike force from a distance. Despite Vincent Gérard's saves in the last ten minutes of the match, they finally lost a goal, on a shot from Luca Witzke at the last second.
On Monday, the French will fly to Szeged from Frankfurt.
In Hungary, they will face Croatia on Thursday (8:30 p.m.), for their first match of the 1st round of Euro-2022.
Guillaume Gille's players will then play against Ukraine (Saturday, 6:00 p.m.) and Serbia two days later (Monday, 8:30 p.m.).
