"Over the course of several days next week, foreign ministers will hold talks to discuss measures that Europe could take to send a clear signal: you cannot crush your people, who are protesting against the rising cost of living and demanding the democratization of the country," he cites the words of TASS.

According to him, European countries must understand "what is happening in Kazakhstan, including what Russia is doing there."

Earlier, the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, said that CSTO assistance to Kazakhstan "evokes memories of situations that should be avoided."

Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Maria Zakharova, commenting on Borrell's words, noted that "one should avoid rampant extremism."

Also, Dmitry Polyansky, the first deputy ambassador of Russia to the UN, reacted to the words of the European diplomat.

He expressed the opinion that, "apparently, Borrell would prefer to see in Kazakhstan a repetition of the illegal Maidan coup that took place in Ukraine."
