Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen visited Myanmar, where the turmoil continues, and met with the top of the military on the 7th.

In the announcement after the meeting, the top military promised to support the special envoy of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, which aims for a peaceful solution to the Myanmar problem.

On the 7th, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen met with Myanmar's top commander Min Aung Hlaing, who visited Naypyidaw, the capital of Myanmar, and took control of the coup d'etat.

According to a statement jointly issued after the meeting, the commander

promised to support ASEAN's special envoy, which mediates dialogue between conflicting troops and democrats in Myanmar, and

▽ ceasefire with ethnic minority armed groups. It has announced that it will extend to the end of the year and welcomes the participation of ASEAN special envoys in peace talks.

ASEAN does not allow top military leaders to attend the summit, partly because the Myanmar military continues to crack down on pro-democracy.

Prime Minister Hun Sen expressed his intention to return to the summit of Myanmar as the presidency of ASEAN, and attended this visit.

However, while the Myanmar Army has announced support for the special envoy and a ceasefire, it has continued to take a negative attitude toward improving the situation, and it is difficult to determine how much it intends to change that attitude even with this announcement. It's just a difficult content.

ASEAN member countries are expected to discuss how to deal with Myanmar based on the results of Prime Minister Hun Sen's visit.
