Since the beginning of December, the sunshine has been missing in Sweden's northernmost inhabited place, but today the light came back to Keinovuopio and could be immortalized by one of the four inhabitants of the village.

- It was 34 degrees cold but it probably gave some hope for brighter times, admits Sixten Jensen who does not want to do any major thing because the sunshine is back.

Nothing special

- It's nothing special, he says and had no intention of going up to the top of Pältsan, 1442 meters above sea level, to get some sun on his face.

Sixten is waiting calmly for January 23 when the sun is visible down in Keinovuopio, unless it is overcast of course.

The Northern Lights every day

Sunshine Day in Keionvuopi is instead dedicated to airing bedding after the latest Northern Lights tourists.

During the weekends, he has, among other things, had tourists from India visit.

- They got to see the northern lights every day, he states with satisfaction and the northern lights are probably what will shine the most in the near future in Keinovuopio.

But on May 21, it's time for the next attraction - the midnight sun.
