Global Health raises the slogan “No Surrender” amid the increasing number of Corona injuries

The World Health Organization said today, Thursday, that the world has just witnessed the largest jump in infections with the emerging coronavirus in seven days, since the beginning of the current epidemic.

According to the Director-General of the Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the organization recorded 9.5 million new infections globally, a weekly increase of 71%, and said that the real number is likely to be much higher, as many regions do not conduct sufficient tests, or perhaps there are incomplete reports. from some areas.

The number of infections doubled in North and South America, and increased by 65% in Europe.

The epidemiologist, head of the technical team on Covid-19 at the World Health Organization, American Maria Van Kerkhove, said that individuals still have the ability to influence the course of the pandemic and keep the number of infections low.

She said citizens should follow simple steps such as keeping a distance from those who are not in their families, wearing masks, and ensuring good ventilation for any room they use.

It also called for avoiding crowded places, and advised schools, businesses and government agencies to invest in good ventilation systems.

"Don't give up, we will get out of this pandemic together," she said.

Tedros Adhanom considered low vaccination rates a global risk, an opinion reinforced by the emergence of more severe strains of the Corona virus during the past two years.
