The Social Democrats, like several other parties in the Västmanland region, have not yet taken a position on the issue of vaccine requirements.
Regional Councilor Denise Norström (S) refers to the fact that there are already guidelines in place that give operations managers in the regional healthcare the right to make demands on vaccinated staff if you have extra vulnerable patients.
According to Liselott Sjöqvist, area manager for emergency care in the Västmanland region, no operations manager has so far made any such demand.
Is it not to transfer the responsibility to the heads of operations instead of you politicians making an overall demand?
- We will wait and see what happens in Dalarna legally.
But so far, our managers have not experienced this as a problem if they have not now made any decisions that people should have other tasks during the pandemic, says Denise Norström.
Taken up in early 2022
In September, the moderates submitted a committee initiative that the Västmanland region should follow the Dalarna region's work to set requirements for vaccination in connection with new employment.
The regional director has been commissioned to respond to the committee initiative and an answer will be given to the regional board meeting on 1 February 2022.
