"Sheikh Al-Joud"

Among the words of the poem “Sheikh Al-Joud” that accompanied the visual presentation that celebrated the 16th anniversary of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, assuming the reins of government in the Emirate of Dubai:

You have to submit before us

O God of praise, mention your name and your path

The greeting of our hearts we raise our hands with

May the glory be to you

O worthy of praise, if we had not

You must commend us before we commend your actions.

We are proud of your thinking over the world around us.

O, multiply your lovers and your tormentors.

As for those who love us, God is faithful to us

As for the rest of them, they may be the incarnation of your shadows.

My Lord is (Zayed) and (Rashid) the glory of our past

and expel them from their dark night

And God has given us (his successor) a star to guide us.

Glory be to you, O Sheikh of generosity, with your likeness.

O (Muhammad), your name tomorrow is a symbol of our transcendence.

And the living reality will testify to you of that.

Your biography is a summary of the biography of our dependents.

Your home is in our hearts, and the star is your home.

You are the sea on the brink of our ports

May God be in your comfort and goodness in your

and you are the sky under your shade our buildings

We will attack you with the tallest building, nor will you

Oh our dream to which our desires cling

The dilemma does not get too big, stop it for you.

craving for glory you call us

I called, and the people called out to me, they called out to you.

O leader who by his might spread our flight

of all peoples, and we are all your men

O, the knight who follows the path of our acquaintances

You know the way of cups and the path that goes

The number one is our goal and one of our principles

You are for us an example, and it is better for you to come first.

O poet with whom you find joy in our rhymes

We run the course of our likes on your likes.

And we say thank you, and that is not enough for us.

not a drop of your bounties
