It is a sensitive subject.

No source wants to talk about it openly, his entourage fearing that everything will be canceled at the last minute.

Within his political party and his family, all are convinced that the former chief of staff of Felix Tshisekedi still has many opponents.

We don't want to lend a side to those who want to push it further.

We want to protect our leader,

”one of his close associates told RFI.

The evacuation operation was carefully and discreetly carried out.

We still know he went to Europe, but the final destination has been carefully kept a secret for now.

According to his party sources, three people are accompanying him: his private secretary, his wife and his doctor.

What is he suffering from?

His relatives say he has been complaining of respiratory problems for several months.

Already before his provisional release, Vital Kamerhe was no longer detained in his cell at Makala central prison.

He was interned in a medical center in the capital.

At this point, no return date has been communicated.

His entourage specifies that the exit authorization which was granted to him does not mention this detail.
