Mali: the CSP reacts to the recommendations of the National Refoundation Conference

In Mali, the National Refoundation Conference delivered their report at the end of the week.
Since then, reactions have followed one another, including from movements that refused to take part, such as those belonging to the CSP, the Permanent Strategic Framework.

In a report released Thursday, participants in the Assises de la Refondation recommended an
extension of the transition period
from six months to five years.
The Assises also concluded on the need for a new Constitution, the limitation of the number of political parties, or the development of new military partnerships ...

According to the authorities, more than 70,000 people have been consulted.
Several dozen political parties, including major parties, however,
refused to take part in these Assises
.
This is also the case for the armed groups signatories to the 2015 peace agreement, brought together within the CSP, the Permanent Strategic Framework.
Its spokesperson,
Moussa Ag Acharatoumane
, was not convinced by the announcements of the Assises.
He explains why at the microphone of Tancrède Chambraud of the Africa editorial staff.

It is a foundation for practically saying the same thing that has already been said in the inclusive national dialogue, and in the other major meetings that have taken place in our country.
"
For a more inclusive process
Moussa Ag Acharatoumane regrets the absence of certain major political actors at these Assises.
“
Now, we must put the cards on the future, for tomorrow.
Tomorrow, it will be done with everyone.
I think that the absence of major players such as certain political parties and us too, the signatory movements which are engaged in the peace process, was noticed by everyone.

I think this is something that must now put a process in place, which will be as inclusive as possible in order to be able to move forward on the country's major projects. The most important thing for us is that the peace agreement can be placed on the order of the priorities of the transition.
