Kuwait stops all social events in closed places

Kuwait has returned to an atmosphere of strictness again in the procedures for dealing with the virus and its parameters, the increase in the number of cases of “Corona” during the past 24 hours.

 The Council of Ministers decided to temporarily stop holding social events that are held in closed places of all kinds, from next Sunday until February 28, provided that the decision is reviewed in light of the epidemiological situation at the time, according to the newspaper “Al-Qabas.”

The Council of Ministers also decided to compel all arrivals to the country to conduct a PCR examination 72 hours before arrival, stating that they are free of infection with the Corona virus, as of today (Tuesday).

Government sources revealed to Al-Qabas that the decision to prevent the holding of events includes any closed place where gatherings take place, including mourning events in closed places and gatherings of bureaus, but it does not include camps and matches.

The decisions of the Council of Ministers came, at a time when the Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on citizens in a number of European countries to return to the country, and not to travel abroad unless absolutely necessary due to the outbreak of the “Omicron” mutant.

Health sources told Al-Qabas newspaper that the Ministry of Health had recently obtained the approval of the Central Agency for Public Tenders for direct contracting.

To provide the Corona vaccine for children with the “Pfizer” company, and to supply 200,000 doses at a value of 6 million dollars, equivalent to about 1.8 million dinars, in preparation for the start of vaccination for the category from 5 to 11 years.

Prohibited occasions: Diwans, funerals, weddings, conferences, parties.
