SMHI's yellow warning for sudden ice slip applies from Monday afternoon.

Something that, among other things, affects most of Svealand and northwestern Götaland.

It is rain or wet snow that draws in from the west on Monday afternoon and can cause it on the roads in northern Värmland, central and northern Dalarna and southern Hälsingland.

In addition, freezing rain can occur.

- What is problematic with ice slides is of course that it is slippery, and it is as always in the winter to adapt the speed to the road conditions and keep your distance and all those classic tips, Per Stenborg, meteorologist on SVT.

- For ice skating when it is at its worst is not to play with.

Wet roads freeze

Late on Monday evening and the night before Tuesday, it will clear up in most of Svealand and northwestern Götaland, which means that wet roads freeze and cause ice slides.

The warning will not end until Tuesday morning, according to SMHI's forecast.

- Ice slides in the winter can occur a little now and then, but what we especially warn about is when it goes very fast, says Stenborg.
