It was belatedly known that a man in his 50s living on the Indonesian island of Bali had kept his mother's body on ice for two months.

On the 29th of last month in local time, foreign media such as CNN Indonesia reported the sad story of Mr. Putu Sugiarta, who lives in Bulengre County, Bali.

According to reports, recently, Putu hasn't been out of the house for about two months, aside from buying a bulk of ice once a day.

Neighbors and relatives did not communicate well with Putu, and his mother, 96, did not appear for a long time.

Neighbors and relatives found this strange and eventually turned to the police for help.

When the police arrived at Putu's house, they encountered an unexpected sight inside the house.

The body of Putu's mother, who had already died, was preserved in ice.

Putu told the police, "At the time of her death, her mother left a will to bury her after taking care of her for four months, so I wanted to keep it."

However, as a result of the police investigation, it was confirmed that Mr. Putu took care of his sick mother alone four months before his death, and preserved the body with ice to keep his will for 54 days after his death on the 3rd of last month.

In addition, as no circumstances suggestive of a murder were found in the mother's body, the police determined that the mother's cause of death was a natural cause of old age.

Despite this, Mr. Putu did not give up his wish to keep his mother's will, but thanks to the long-term persuasion of the police, he eventually changed his mind and held a belated funeral for his mother on the 26th.
