New Year's fireworks display was held in Taiwan as usual.



Colorful fireworks were embroidered around Taipei 101 Tower, requiring event attendees to write their names on a roster and wear masks.



New Zealand welcomed 2022 four hours earlier than Korea.



Due to the spread of Omicron, the large-scale fireworks display has been canceled unlike in previous years.



Instead, the New Year's Lighting Show was held centered on the Sky Tower, a landmark of Auckland.



A large-scale event was held to welcome the New Year in Pyongyang.



A fireworks display was held amid a crowd of people wearing masks at Kim Il-sung Square, and Pyongyang citizens enjoyed the performance on a special stage waving luminous sticks.



In Tokyo, Japan, the official New Year's Eve event has been canceled due to the spread of COVID-19.



Police and security personnel announced the cancellation of the event, and street signs were turned off, but a large crowd gathered.



In Hong Kong, a fireworks display and a symphony orchestra performance were held to welcome the New Year, and in Bangkok, Thailand, the New Year's Day was celebrated with fireworks.



On the other hand, in Europe, where the spread of COVID-19 is steep, New Year's celebrations have been canceled and the square has been closed, preparing for the new year in tension.
