According to RIA Novosti, the law applies to companies with a daily audience of more than 500 thousand users from Russia.

The owners of such information resources, in order to continue working on the territory of the state, must create branches, representative offices or establish a legal entity in Russia for the interaction of local regulators with them.

The same responsibilities will also apply to hosting providers, advertising system operators and organizers of information dissemination on the Internet.

In November, Roskomnadzor announced that 13 foreign companies, including Google, Twitter, Meta and Telegram, should open their offices in Russia by January 1.

The list of such companies is published on the official website of the department.
