A health disaster.. The omicron mutant was found in 55% of the samples of Corona patients in Mumbai

According to a medical survey, the omicron mutant was found in 55% of samples of Corona patients in Mumbai, while delta was detected in 13%.

Fifty-five percent of samples sent to the Kasturba lab for genome sequencing were diagnosed with the new omicron mutant, according to the seventh full genome surveillance report.

The survey also stated in a report that approximately 32% of the samples were diagnosed as "delta" mutants and 13% of the samples were diagnosed as "delta" mutants.

The Civil Health Authority of India has collected 376 samples from patients infected with coronavirus as part of the seventh genome sequencing survey conducted by the Next Generation Genome Sequencing Laboratory at BMC Kasturba Hospital and National Institute of Virology in Pune.

Of these, 282 patients were from Mumbai, with 156 samples containing the omicron variant, 89 having the delta derivative, and 37 having the delta variant.

In the seventh batch, 376 samples were sent for genome sequencing, of which 282 were from Mumbai.

Among the 282 patients, 46 [16%] were up to 20 years old, 99 [35%] were between 21 and 40 years old, 79 [28%] were in the 41-60 age range, 54 [19%] were between 61 and 80 years, and four [1%] in the over-80 segment,” an official said.
