But also alcohol and a picture of the king with a big trout were missing in the cottage.

The defendants are suspected of first trying to break in by smashing a glass window on the door and unlocking the entrance door through the hole in the window, but failed.

Then they should instead have broken open the door and entered.

Both deny the crime and say they have not been inside the king's cabin.

The 40-year-old tells in interrogation that he knows and has seen the cottage, the teenager says that he does not know that the king has a cottage in that area.

Traces bind the people to the burglary

But according to the police, there are clues that bind the two people to the crime scene.

Among other things, fingerprints from a shard of glass and DNA from a drunk liquor bottle in the cottage.

Witnesses are also said to have observed the two suspects half a kilometer away from the cottage, where they have been seen sleeping and had alcohol with them.

"If alcohol is missing in the king's cottage and (the person who is in his older teens) wakes up bakis 500 meters away, then it's just a matter of adding up one plus one," says a witness in interrogation.

Not resident in the county

Both are charged at Lycksele District Court for theft.

None of the accused are residents of the county.

The courts, which are the plaintiffs, are claiming damages of SEK 92,600.

SEK 42,600 regarding used fishing equipment and SEK 50,000 regarding restoration and labor costs for damage to the holiday home.
