The Health and Care Inspectorate, Ivo, became aware of the case after a relative alerted after the person died at a municipal eviction home.

Ivo examined the case but saw no inaccuracies in how the accommodation acted, however, shortcomings were found in how the municipality handled the case.

The Social Welfare Board has on several occasions failed to make assessments of the person's abuse and bad mood.

Despite having had sufficient evidence to initiate an investigation into compulsory care in accordance with the Act on the Care of Addicts, LVM, this has not been done.

Now, until 21 January 2022, the municipality of Eskilstuna has the responsibility to report to Ivo what is being done to ensure that something similar does not happen again.
