Six months after their withdrawal from Afghanistan, the United States appointed this Wednesday, December 29, an emissary to defend the rights of women in the Islamic emirate of the Taliban.
Afghanistan-born Rina Amiri, 53, will be in charge of "
critical issues
" for the Biden administration.

The
plight of Afghan women
has been a stated priority of the Biden administration since the return of the Taliban.
A priority that will have to embody Rina Amiri.
The head of American diplomacy does not hold it against him for his sharp criticisms during the chaotic withdrawal of American troops.
She then qualified as "
disaster
" the process of evacuating women in danger.
This Wednesday, Antony Blinken appointed her as Joe Biden's special envoy for the rights of women and girls in Afghanistan.

At 53, Rina Amiri is no stranger.
