Covid-19 Sánchez justifies in the "balance" between health and economic growth not taking more measures against omicron
Pablo Casado has celebrated this Wednesday that the year 2021 ends up consolidating a "cycle of change that is unstoppable" in Spain, with the PP leading the polls ahead of the PSOE in just two years of legislature. On how this point has been reached, the
popular
leader
has put forward the thesis that the president of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, was not the lever of that turnaround in the intention to vote. He explained that overtaking the PSOE was not a consequence of the electoral victory of the Madrid president on May 4, but that "already" had occurred before, in March.
According to this account, "the PP was already above the intention to vote" with respect to the PSOE thanks to the "failed censure motions" in the Region of Murcia and Castilla y León, and that what caused the "great result" of the elections in the Community of Madrid a month and a half later was that the PP distanced itself "a lot" from the socialists.
This explanation clashes with the story that is made by Díaz Ayuso and occurs in the midst of a strong internal confrontation between the two due to the will of the Madrid president to assume the reins of the party in the Community of Madrid.
To the internal crisis, "not a minute"
In a press conference on the balance of the year after the meeting of the Executive Committee of the PP, and expressly asked about this matter, Pablo Casado has avoided giving his support to Ayuso to preside over the PP in Madrid. "We are not going to spend a minute talking about organic issues," replied the
popular
leader
, who has excused that this type of issue does not concern the public.
Casado has said that they are now focused on proposing the alternative to Pedro Sánchez and the elections in Castilla y León, and that the party will "resume" the calendar of congresses when those elections are over.
All of them will be done "in a timely manner."
Regarding the political analysis of the year, Casado has assured that the balance of the management of Pedro Sánchez is "disastrous" because it has been characterized by three features: "arrogance", "incompetence" and "lies".
So he regretted that Spain has "the worst government at the worst time."
For this reason, he pointed out, there are more and more Spaniards trusting the PP.
He accuses Sánchez of "cowardice"
Among the many issues that he has reviewed, the president of the
popular
has been resounding in criticizing the management of the health crisis, because the "irresponsibility" and "cowardice" of the Prime Minister are "again costing lives, infections, concern and that families cannot celebrate Christmas together. "
For Casado it is a mistake that Sánchez has refused to approve a pandemic law, as requested by the PP, because the consequence is that there is no coordination at the national level and that the autonomous communities are facing the crisis "alone".
"The Government has been late for the sixth time to another wave of the coronavirus, from which it said that we were going to come out stronger and that it was defeated," he reproached.
'No to labor reform
Regarding the labor reform, Casado has defended the position of the PP to vote against the text and has insisted that it is not going to save the Government in the face of the refusal of its usual partners to support it in Congress. His warning is that the PP is not going to be the "crutch" of a reform that only responds to the "flushing" of Sánchez with Podemos and his allies.
"Why do I have to endorse Pedro Sánchez's mistakes? Why does the PP have to whitewash the commitments with Podemos? Why does the PP have to supplant Bildu and ERC?"
The leader of the PP has warned that he also has his "resistance manual" in it, alluding to the title of Sánchez's book, to resist the "campaign" of pressure that he believes the Government will unleash on the PP. In this sense, he has respected the position of businessmen but at the same time has marked distances, claiming that he has a labor model and that they cannot pretend that the PP "self-amends" with this text. Even more so when the PSOE "has not called" at any time the
popular
to forge the agreement.
Casado has demanded that the Government process the labor reform as a bill and has threatened to take the Government before the Constitutional Court if it does not follow that parliamentary channel and only tries to obtain a royal decree law.
For the rest, the appearance of Casado has revealed the null interlocution that today the Prime Minister and the leader of the opposition have.
They have not spoken for eight months, which was caused by the migration crisis in Ceuta, but they have not met in Moncloa for a year and a half.
Casado has put all the blame on Sánchez because, contrary to what he promised, he had not "called him again."
Thus, he has regretted that they have such a cold relationship because the rest of the presidents did favor certain channels of dialogue with the leader of the opposition.
Casado has explained that he has already offered 10 state pacts to Sánchez but that instead of being listened to, what he has received are insults.
