In my eyes, rural revitalization is an individual who needs to be paid attention to.

It has been 10 years since I graduated from university. My job at the grassroots level has also changed from the education system to the administrative department. Although I have undergone a variety of status and role changes, most of the work at hand is closely related to the countryside, and I have witnessed the development of the countryside along the way. Great changes.

From the decisive victory over poverty alleviation to the decisive battle for poverty alleviation, to the present work of rural revitalization, many things are unforgettable.

In 2018, I worked as the "Bao Village Chief" in Yangjiazhai Village, Yangliu Town, Yinjiang Tujia and Miao Autonomous County, Tongren City, Guizhou Province. Yangjiazhai on the top of the mountain is one of the most "frozen" villages in the county.

At the end of December, snowflakes were already floating in the sky, and the whole village soon went into hibernation.

Our little partner in the fortified team was discussing road traffic safety control matters at the village committee, and suddenly received a call from the villager saying that his 88-year-old father had disappeared.

In the snow, we called on the masses to help find people through the "village ringing" loudspeaker.

The villagers came from all directions, and even a part of the people in the neighboring villages also participated.

In the bitter cold wind, the search scope expanded from the original point. From more than 5 pm to more than 10 pm, more than 200 folks continued to persevere. When it was just dawning, several teams of young people were again let's go.

Taking into account the age and body of the old man, we reversed the search and rescue from far to near. At about 12 noon, we found the dead old man in a crack under a mountain road that had not been walked for many years.

  The final result is sad.

In the past few years, many villages have been walked. If the villages used to be the "386199" troops, now the "3861" people have come out, and the rest are the elderly.

How can we not repeat the tragedy of search and rescue, especially in today's advanced information technology, how to let the rural elderly enjoy the dividends of the information age, instead of being ruthlessly abandoned by the "digital divide" is a question I have been thinking about.

For example, the "Sky Eye Project" in the village's head to the end of the village, the "Snow Bright Project" on important road nodes, or the video surveillance of households can all improve the situation of the elderly.

On the basis of not separating the original social structure of the village, letting information technology better serve the village can the village elderly be more protected.

In rural revitalization work, left-behind elderly and left-behind minors are the focus of our attention. However, there is a very special category of left-behind minors, which is the fact that no one supports minors.

At the beginning of 2021, the Municipal Committee of the Youth League required Youth League cadres at all levels to conduct field investigations at the grassroots level.

The topic I chose is about left-behind minors.

I remember that during investigations in Siyuan Community of Yanhe County, Luochang Township of Yinjiang County, Yongan Township of Songtao County and other places, it was found that after the victory of the fight against poverty, many guarantee policies have been greatly improved and strengthened, such as leaving the facts unsupported. Minors are included in orphan subsidies, and the protection measures for schooling of young people in special difficulties are also more specific.

However, in the process of research, we found that many subsidies for unsupported minors were actually granted. After the government paid them in place, some relatives did not fully spend the money on the children, and there was a gap between the children’s quality of life and expectations, and Due to the lack of family education and lack of care and love, many children have different levels of mental health problems, such as low self-esteem, sensitivity, lack of self-confidence and even violent tendencies.

Therefore, I began to think about planning a public welfare project that not only focused on solving the short-term practical difficulties of the children, but also focused on their future growth and development, and finally formed the "Tongren Youth Care Plan".

From the improvement of the project to the drafting of the proposal, from publicity and promotion to responding to donors’ doubts, and the holding of mobilization meetings, during that time we were constantly making calls, matching resources, going around, and training volunteers. It took a month. The call time is more than 3000 minutes, and the phone bill is as high as four to five hundred yuan.

Staying up late, working overtime, in meetings, and revolving around one after another, people struggle and persist on the verge of collapse, often asking themselves what they want?

A friend joked that you still care about left-behind children, and your own babies are all left-behind children!

Suddenly, I realized that I hadn't been home for more than a month, and I could only watch them grow up a little bit through video.

A staff member told me that when doing "group birthdays" for children, some children said that this was the first birthday cake he had grown so big.

Perhaps things that many people are accustomed to are the first time for these children that it is of great significance.

Through continuous caring activities, some school league committees and Young Pioneers teachers gave us feedback, and obviously felt that the children were more optimistic.

It is not easy to really accomplish one thing. Not everyone is willing to support your ideas, nor can everyone be willing to give love.

With plans and proposals to recommend and communicate everywhere, you may encounter cynicism and close your door, but more often people’s active participation supports us to do our work well.

If you ask me what rural revitalization is in my eyes?

I would say that it is an effective connection to the poverty alleviation work. At the same time, I also think that it is to pay attention to the individuals in need, whether they are the elderly or the minors.

Because the village is made up of villages and specific people, only by doing a good job of people can the village become the destination of a better life for the people.

Maybe I didn't do much by myself, but I always believe that every bit of effort is a note in the rural revitalization symphony!
