The manager of a business in Noues-de-Sienne (Calvados) is not about to forget Christmas Day.

She was with her family, in her accommodation opposite her "bar-grocery store-tobacco shop-restaurant".

Her son had gone out to walk the dog.

In front of the business, he was attacked by a man in possession of a firearm, reports

Ouest-France

.

The assailant, in his 50s, demanded cigarettes.

Seeing the scene, the mother immediately reacted: “To attack my son, it was unbearable to me!

I quickly intervened […] and when he let his guard down a little, I was able to grab his weapon ”.

While she thought the man had reasoned, the shopkeeper was again threatened, with a hunting knife this time.

The attacker then fled by car.

A taste of déjà vu

This is not the first bad experience for this trader.

In April 2016, she had already stood up to a hooded burglar.

The boss had tried to snatch his weapon and had fought with the individual, before throwing him out.

The images, captured by CCTV cameras, had made the buzz on the Internet.

“It's traumatic again for me.

I know that I react by instinct… But who knows what can go through the heads of these individuals?

One day, it could end badly for me, ”

admits the shopkeeper.

The latter knows that she is a target with a business open every day, offering many services, and run by a woman.

The suspect was eventually arrested.

Drunk, he would have attacked a few minutes earlier the manager of another business, in Vire.

The man was taken into custody and then referred on Monday.

He should be tried on January 17.

In the meantime, he has been released, under judicial supervision.
