Deputy Lantratova proposed to extend the holidays for schoolchildren until January 16

She sent a corresponding request to the head of the Ministry of Education Sergei Kravtsov.

"In order to prevent the deterioration of the epidemiological situation and disruption of the educational process, I ask you to consider the possibility of extending the vacation for schoolchildren by a week - until January 16, 2022," - the text of the document RIA Novosti quoted.

Lantratova also suggested considering the possibility of compensating for missed classes in the future at the discretion of the department in order to fully comply with the curriculum. 

In a commentary to the publication, she noted that the initiative was prompted by the appeals of the pupils' parents, who wanted to minimize social contacts between children.

The head of the Ministry of Education Sergei Kravtsov previously called on teachers and schoolchildren to comply with the recommendations of Rospotrebnadzor during the New Year holidays in order to prevent a worsening of the epidemiological situation with coronavirus.
