On Tuesday, December 28, a decision was made in Finland that everyone who works with the sick and frail should receive covid-19 vaccinations.

- Of course, coercion is always a word that lifts a person to chicken, but if you think about what profession we are working in, we want to protect the weaker, says Jenny Suortti, who works as a caregiver in a nursing home in Kotka in south-eastern Finland.

In Finland, more than 90% of nursing workers have been vaccinated.

The new law means that non-vaccinated people must be able to present a negative Korona test result.

Otherwise, the employer will transfer the non-vaccinated to other positions.

If that is not possible, they can be laid off without pay.

In the video, the nursing staff tells more about how they react to the need for vaccination.
