In China, only a few hundred new cases of covid-19 are confirmed every day.

But despite the low spread of the billion among the population, the restrictions are tough.

In the Chinese city of Xian, all 13 million inhabitants are detained.

All companies except supermarkets, convenience stores and healthcare facilities have been ordered to close.

In order to keep an eye on the number of covids infected, the authorities have now also built 4,500 temporary test stations in the city.

According to the state news agency CCTV, a staff of 100,000 people has been deployed to run the test clinics.

Strict curfew

In Xian, there is a strict curfew.

Only one person per household is allowed to go out every three days to buy food, and at the same time as the inhabitants of the region line up in front of the test tents, dissatisfaction is bubbling over the harsh restrictions on the Chinese social media Weibo, reports AFP.

"I'm starving to death," writes one user.

"We have no food and I can not go out, please help me," writes another.
