The Emirates Football Association, in partnership with “Expo 2020 Dubai”, announced a unique initiative that brings together world football legends in an exhibition match hosted by “Expo” next January, with the participation of four world football stars: Patrice Evra, Michel Salgado and Baccari Sania, and Samir Nasri.

The idea of ​​the challenge is for each of the four world football icons to form a team of world stars through social media to participate in the match, and the task of each of the four leaders will be to prepare a list of 15 players: eight football legends, stars and celebrities, and three representatives of the Expo pavilions, And two rising stars, in addition to two other people who can be from the audience, provided that the list includes at least three players.

The Federation explained that the initiative aims to shed light on the Emirati football agenda in the new year, and to involve a group of the most prominent stars of the game and celebrities in the match that will be held at 4 pm on Saturday, the eighth of next January, at the Sports and Fitness Center at the "Expo", in the presence of a large number of visitors. The Great World Exhibition, which is witnessing the participation of 192 countries.

The UAE Football Association and Expo are cooperating in organizing the initiative with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, Dubai Cares, Football for Peace, the Dubai Sports Council, and the global company Adidas.

The selection of the leaders of the four teams came in light of their great successes in world football, and their achievement of many titles with their clubs in the English, Spanish, French and Champions Leagues, in addition to their great passion for spreading the game globally.

The Secretary-General of the Emirates Football Association, Mohammed Hazam Al Dhaheri, expressed his happiness with the initiative, which constitutes the first activities of the Emirates Football Association in 2022, and one of the fruits of the joint cooperation agreement signed by the federation with “Expo 2020 Dubai” last October, adding that “the presence of this The number of international stars of the game and the public and media interest that their presence under the umbrella of the Emirates Football Association in a global forum such as Expo guarantees to focus attention on Emirates football.”

Al Dhaheri explained that the federation is constantly seeking to activate partnerships with various local and international bodies to develop the Emirates football in the marketing, media and technical fields as part of the 2038 strategy. In cooperation with leading organizations such as Dubai Cares and Football for Peace.
