Award-winning actress and singer, Lea Salonga, and famous singer and pianist, Joe Stilgo, played a special evening hosted by the Jubilee Stage at Expo 2020 Dubai, as part of the Christmas celebrations.
Hundreds of visitors - who raised their phones to record clips of the concert - gathered around the jubilee stage for the musical evening, which began with an exceptional performance of singer-songwriter Stilgo, his show that combines intelligence and elegance, followed by Filipino singer Salonga, who made the audience dance and sing along to the most popular songs in Musical Theatre, the occasion for Christmas, in addition to her performance of some of the world's most successful songs.
During her performance, Salonga wanted to share with the audience the joy of Christmas, through the songs “Holy Night,” “Here is Christmas,” “Give Yourself a Little Merry Christmas,” and other special songs.
The show marks Salonga's first concert in front of a live audience since March 2020, when she performed at Dubai Opera, before the pandemic halted concerts worldwide.
Salonga said: “The last time I performed in front of an audience was here in Dubai!

It was a time of uncertainty, well, it still is, but I think we've all been able to figure out how to move forward, I'm looking at this crowd and you're all wearing masks... so proud of you."
She added: "Thank you to everyone at (Expo 2020 Dubai), it is a Christmas miracle that we have already done, it is amazing, thank you all for being here and spending Christmas day with us."
