During the live ammunition exercise, I almost suffered a loss of "experience"

When the target on the drill field also learned to "play tricks", I realized more deeply that the enemy would not play cards in the same way as the target.

At that live ammunition tactical drill, the wind was roaring and the sky was full of yellow sand. As the commander of the car, I led the team.

As the tank drove into the shooting area, I opened my eyes and stared at the periscope, for fear of missing any important targets.

On the right front, an "enemy" chariot rushed into sight.

"The target'enemy' chariot, armor-piercing projectile, annihilate!" In an instant, the gun popped out of the chamber, and the first shot made a hit. I was full of confidence.

Based on previous exercise experience, targets fired with the same type of weapons often do not appear one after another.

Years of cooperation has made me and the gunner a tacit understanding.

In order to save time for the preparation of artillery fire, after shooting a "gun target", I asked the gunner to prepare for the "gun target" shooting.

As I was searching for the target, an "enemy" tank suddenly broke into sight.

The sudden situation caught me and the gunner off guard: Why didn't the target setting come as usual this time?

In a desperate situation, I immediately ordered the gunner to switch the type of ammunition and lock the target.

In the panic, I saw a flash of fire in the distance.

"The target will still attack?" At the critical moment, I commanded the chariot to maneuver urgently, but fortunately it was not "shot."

"Good risk!" There was no time to breathe, and the special sentiment came one after another.

Not far ahead, an "enemy" armored communications jamming vehicle is moving fast.

  Which one to play first?

If you hit the armored communication jammer first, the tank will attack again at any time; if you hit the tank, the armored communication jammer may cause electromagnetic interference to my rear after it escapes, with disastrous consequences.

  The fighter jet is fleeting.

After weighing the pros and cons, I decided to fight the "enemy" armored communications jammer first.

I quickly pressed the smoke screen launch button and directed the emergency maneuver of the tank under the cover of the smoke barrier to find the best shooting position.

"Boom!" The artillery shell flew out, and the "enemy" armored communications jammer was successfully destroyed.

Before the gunpowder smoke cleared, I immediately commanded the tank to turn its muzzle and re-lock the "enemy" tank.

The "enemy" tank was wiped out in response to flying sand and rocks.

When I walked off the shooting range, my hands began to tremble unconsciously due to high tension.

Unexpectedly, the "nirvana" that I was proud of almost became a "fatal weakness".

During the resumption, the director team uncovered the mystery: the type of target, the time and place of appearance, were deliberately done, and the purpose was to test whether the car team could correctly judge the battlefield situation and use weapons and equipment flexibly.

The drill commander, Chai Jinbo, warned us that some officers and soldiers turned their eyes on the requirements of actual combat and turned to the so-called rules of the shooting range. You will suffer a lot!

Sitting in the audience, my face was hot.

I muster up the courage to speak boldly: "In normal training, we must not only have a target in our eyes, but also have an enemy in our mind. Once we leave the actual combat, no amount of'experience' in the shooting range will be able to win extra points on the battlefield."

Aim at the battlefield to develop true skills

■Guo Yi, commander of a brigade of the 82nd Army

●The target is no longer "honest" and vulnerable to a single blow. Only in this way can officers and soldiers be given more practical thinking and can guide them to truly aim at the actual "bullseye."

●Improve the target setting rules to make the so-called shooting range rule invalid, so as to promote the training of the troops closer to actual combat, which is a backward force from the end to the starting point.

The more realistic the target is set, the better the training effect; what kind of target you usually aim at for training determines to a certain extent what kind of battle can be fought in wartime.

●Aim at the battlefield to develop true skills.

It is important to know that the battlefield in the future will change rapidly and it will be far more complicated than usual training.

Only by setting the targets of training soldiers to be harder and more realistic, so that every round of ammunition and every shot can produce combat effectiveness, can the officers and soldiers exercise the hard work of defeating the enemy.
