The labor reform

agreed by the Minister of Labor

Yolanda Díaz

with the

CEOE, UGT and CCOO

will not have the parliamentary support of EH Bildu. Its general coordinator

Arnaldo Otegi

announced today that he is already working with ERC to amend this agreement during its parliamentary process after feeling "tremendously disappointed" by the agreed content. Otegi wants

other independentist leftist forces such

as the

BNG

or, even

More Country

, to join in his pressure to modify substantial aspects of the pact reached between the vice president and the social agents.

Otegi advanced his

critical position on

Thursday

just hours after the agreement was announced but he wanted to make public today that EH Bildu and ERC are already preparing draft amendments against the agreed content. The "central issue" of the

refusal of the nationalist coalition

to support these changes lies

in the "nationalization" of collective bargaining

. What the Basque and Catalan pro-independence parties claim as a red line is that the

regional and provincial agreements

are above the state sector agreements.

"We defend the

prevalence of regional agreements

because of the better conditions for our workers," stressed Otegi, who has denounced the gestation of an agreement that affects all workers without taking into account the institutions, the parties or the unions Basques.

The objective of EH Bildu is to

modify "in a structural way" the agreement

reached yesterday and to do so both in Congress together with the rest of Sánchez's pro-independence partners and on the street hand in hand with the nationalist unions such as ELA and LAB (majority with the 60% representation in Euskadi) very critical of an agreement in which they have not participated.

Otegi suspects that CEOE has achieved as a

condition

for closing the pact with Vice President Yolanda Díaz that

it is not modified in its parliamentary processing

as a bill and has launched a question addressed to President Pedro Sánchez: "with whom is the reform going to be carried out? labor?"

The general coordinator of Bildu recalled that at the start of the PSOE and Podemos legislature included in their government program

the "complete repeal" of Rajoy's labor reform

and that in May 2020 they signed a commitment with EH Bildu in the same sense .

"We comply," stressed Otegi, who has disconnected this negotiation from the budget process since EH Bildu will continue to support its approval in the plenary session scheduled for next week in Congress.

EH Bildu confirms that

"very harmful aspects"

remain

in a "small adjustment of the labor reform"

and focuses its concern on the pre-eminence of the sectoral collective agreements on which are agreed in each autonomous community.

To the defense of "a Basque labor relations framework" with a union majority made up of ELA and LAB other than that made up of the UGT and CCOO, there are claims about the

judicial control of the Employment Regulation Files (ERE

), the

compensation of layoffs

and conditions of ultra-activity.

Both ELA and LAB have questioned the agreement signed in Madrid by the Socialist Government with the social agents.

Mitxel Lakuntza

's union

has expressly demanded "frontal opposition" to this "lousy agreement" by PNV and EH Bildu.

ELA interprets that the agreement maintains the "ease of dismissal and the advantageous position in the collective bargaining of the employer."

LAB, for its part, believes that the agreement does not repeal the labor reform of the PP Government and the

content is adapted "to the extent of the employer

.

"

The Abertzale union also questions, like Otegi, the "nationalization" of collective bargaining and doubts that the agreement will be carried out.

In fact, it has already called on its delegates and affiliates to participate in

the mobilizations that it will carry out on January 27

.
