In Greece, on the occasion of the end of the year celebrations, the authorities have just imposed a new series of measures to fight against Covid-19 and the spread of the Omicron variant.

In addition to wearing the obligatory mask in the street, in public transport and in supermarkets, the Greeks are now ordered to wear two superimposed masks or a KN95 mask, the one in the shape of a duckbill.

In addition, from mid-January, the vaccination of over 60s will become compulsory, under penalty of a monthly fine.

A stone's throw from a small Christmas market in central Athens, two taxi drivers take a cigarette break in the middle of the street.

Despite the new measures just decreed, none of them wears a mask.

Leonidas, who prefers to indicate only one first name, would like to be left alone and is opposed in principle to the rules in force.
