Eskilstuna municipality has completely canceled the ceremony with New Year's speeches at Klosters church.
Usually a large number of Eskilstuna residents gather on and around Nybron to then see the fireworks.
The speech will now instead be broadcast on digital channels, while the fireworks at twelve o'clock will still be off.
In Nyköping, the speech is deleted by the municipal board chairman Urban Granström (S).
It would have been held on Stora torget according to tradition, but will now instead be played back on a big screen.
The previously planned walk along the Nyköpingsån will be off - but with changes.
The municipality of Nyköping encourages those who are interested in going for a walk to keep track of the municipality's website as some things may change in the end.
