"In particular, the construction of the Ukrainian-Russian section of the state border with anti-transport ditches continues on the section of the Sumy border detachment," the State Border Service of Ukraine said in a statement.
The ministry noted that the work continues despite low temperatures due to "security challenges."
American diplomats previously paid an official visit to Kiev to discuss the situation on the border with Russia.
Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov said earlier in an interview with the American magazine Newsweek that the rhetoric of Washington and the Western press about Moscow's "aggressive" plans has no basis.
