On Tuesday, round-trip trips from Arlanda to Copenhagen, Oslo, London and Paris were canceled - due to sick leave among the staff.

- We have an unusually high level of sick leave due to covid and a lower threshold for staying at home, says John Eckhoff, press manager at SAS.

Arlanda-Helsinki has also been canceled, but due to technical problems.

For the entire airline, ie flights from both Sweden, Norway and Denmark, there are about twenty departures that were canceled on Tuesday due to sick leave among the staff.

Travelers have also received notifications about canceled flights to, among other places, Nice tomorrow, December 22nd.

Swedavia's website states that departures from Arlanda to Oslo, Barcelona, Gran Canaria and Frankfurt have been canceled during the next 24 hours.

"Trying to find alternatives"

It is unclear how many of these are due to sick leave, but SAS's press manager says that it may well be that more departures are canceled.

- In the first place, and as far as possible, we always try to find an alternative and rebook, either with our own airline or another.

If we do not succeed in that, we will make a refund, says John Eckhoff.

All victims must have received information from SAS, either by text message or via e-mail.

To those who may not get off on their anticipated Christmas trip, the press manager says:

- It is very unfortunate and we really regret it, but we, like the rest of society, are affected by covid.
