Through surveys every month in the classes, Änglandaskolan in Örebro constantly follows up on how the students are doing.

This is to be able to take action early if you get indications that not everything is right.

If something happens, Gustaf Brandell believes that it is important to take the students' voice seriously as soon as possible and investigate what has happened.

Cases of abusive treatment here too

But even though 95 percent of the students answer that they feel safe, there are cases of suspected abusive treatment here as well.

Every year, the school investigates about 20 cases of suspected violation.

- At 75 to 80 percent, violation is also found and we act regardless of each event to overcome it.

For me, the number of cases is not the key.

If we have 30-40 situations to handle every year, it is a sign that we have working routines and can discover things, talk to the students and fix the events, says Gustaf Brandell.

Dare to tell about something that has happened is crucial according to many experts and it is something you work on getting in with the students at Änglandaskolan.

How to create such a culture?
