December 21, 2021 A two-year-old girl was killed in a fire that broke out tonight in Palma di Montechiaro, in the province of Agrigento. The flames devoured an apartment located in a multi-storey building in via San Giuseppe, in the center of the city. A family has been evicted.
It was the little girl's mother who had sounded the alarm, saying that her daughter had remained inside the apartment.
The child was sleeping on the first floor of the house while her parents were on the ground floor. The couple tried to reach their little daughter to save her, but the flames were high and every attempt was useless. According to an initial reconstruction, the fire could have been triggered by a short circuit.
On the spot, teams of firefighters and carabinieri who immediately started investigations to ascertain the causes of the fire.
