Death of Carlos Marín, the child prodigy who wanted to be a father and was a victim of harassment
The death of Carlos Marín (53), singer of Il Divo, has fallen like a jug of cold water among his followers.
On December 8, he was admitted in serious condition to the ICU of a Manchester hospital for
complications derived from Covid,
but his fans hoped that he would overcome the disease.
Eleven days later, he died.
The lyrical singer knew the symptoms of Covid well and spoke about it a year ago, in December 2020, during an
interview
with the actress
Mar Regueras
published on Instagram.
Marín said that
the disease had passed at the end of 2019
, when the virus was still landing in the world.
"I was on tour in December in the United States,
which is where I am sure that Covid gave me because I had a 41 and a half fever, I
was fatal, I lost my sense of smell and lost everything," he
confessed.
"This was about December 12 or 13, 2019, when 40 people had already died in the United States, but
the doctors could not tell me what it was
They said it was a viral thing, but they didn't know "he added.
Shortly before starting one of his performances, the singer
had a fever
, he called the doctor to prescribe something but, due to the confusion of the experts with the virus, he was prescribed Levofloxacin, a
medicine to combat pneumonia
. Carlos took the medication, which
caused paralysis of the muscles in his face
and pain in his legs that led to the rupture of the Achilles tendon, for which he underwent emergency surgery in Spain.
After the intervention, the fever and suffocation
when he spoke did not subside and the doctors decided to admit him. Marín said that he suffered a sudden faint with a drop in saturation included and that
the doctors gave him oxygen
and they warned him that if he did not improve they would have to intubate him, something that ultimately did not happen.

It was a harsh episode that the Il Divo singer attributed to the coronavirus.
"Seeing all the tests that the doctor had, he told me that I had Covid.
I passed it, I had a fever, pneumonia, I lost my sense of smell, I had everything and luckily I did not end up in the afterlife
,
" he
said.
At the end of the interview with Regueras Marín, he confessed that he felt immune since, in addition to having passed it, he related that he had been with infected people on many occasions who finally did not transmit the virus to him.
"Now I am extremely lucky that I must be immune," he
explained.
In addition, the singer
was vaccinated
, as reported by the British newspaper
The Daily Mail
.
His death, by Covid, has left his millions of fans devastated.
