159 of the Criminal Code of Russia (“Attempted fraud committed by an organized group on an especially large scale”), ”the press service of the department reported.

According to the investigation, last year the suspect, together with the deputy head of the research and innovation department of the university, made fictitious contracts, according to which the educational institution acted as the executor of scientific work.

At the same time, these works were carried out by processing the materials previously written by the deputy head and contained falsified research results.

Thus, after the signing of the acceptance certificates, the customers transferred 3.5 million rubles.

The accused fraudulently appropriated part of the money paid.

As a result of criminal actions, the university suffered material damage in the amount of 1.4 million rubles.

In August last year, the former vice-rector of Moscow State University and the ex-head of the Ministry of Construction of the Samara Region, Alexei Grishin, was detained in Moscow in a criminal case of premeditated bankruptcy.
