Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen emphasized the need to strengthen prevention and control. At the same time, it said that it would no longer take "blocking" measures.

  According to a report from the Ministry of Health of Cambodia on the 18th, the country reported 5 new confirmed cases of new coronary pneumonia that day, 11 new cases were cured and discharged, and 2 new deaths. Both of them were not vaccinated.

Among the newly confirmed cases, 4 were community-transmitted infections and 1 was imported from abroad.

Up to now, a total of 120,400 cases have been diagnosed nationwide in Cambodia, a total of 116,700 cases have been cured, and a total of 3,003 cases have died.

  The Ministry of Health of Cambodia stated that the country has found a second confirmed case of Ome Keron.

The patient is a 25-year-old Iranian man. He went to Kenya in eastern Africa a month ago. He departed from Kenya on November 14 and transferred to Dubai and Bangkok, Thailand. He arrived at Phnom Penh International Airport on December 16.

  The Ministry of Health of Cambodia pointed out that the patient received a rapid test at the airport and the result was positive. The sample was sent to the Pasteur Institute, and the test result proved to be infected with the Omi Keron mutant strain.

He is currently being treated at the Tuberculosis Prevention and Control Center in Phnom Penh.

  This is the second confirmed case of Ome Keron in Cambodia.

The first confirmed case was a 23-year-old Cambodian female who was diagnosed with Omi Keron virus after returning from Ghana on December 12.

  On the 18th, Hun Sen once again called on the public to remain calm about the Omi Keron virus and not to panic.

He also called for the continued strict implementation of epidemic prevention measures, and urged all relevant departments to speed up the new crown vaccination work, especially the new crown vaccination for the elderly and children.

  Hun Sen said that although the Cambodian new crown epidemic has not yet ended, the government will no longer take "blockade" measures.
