December 17, 2021 The administration of first doses increases, and all vaccinations leap forward to 3.6 million in just one week. These are some of the data in the weekly report by Commissioner Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, who however calls for the utmost attention and prudence for the Christmas holidays: "Christmas is a time for shopping and gatherings - so the Commissioner - but we must continue to be responsible". And on the variant that is rampant in Great Britain: "In the case of Omicron: we try to counteract by running on the third doses".

General Figliuolo comments positively on the rate of unvaccinated people which - albeit slightly - is lowering compared to last week: "Now there are 5.8 million: compared to seven days ago, when the totally uncovered over 12 years were 6,103. 160, about 200 thousand more people have taken at least one dose " 

* Still without the first dose of vaccine:

906,626 people (19.59%) - 12-19 age

group 505,608 (8 , 41%) - age range 20-29

904,211 (13.31%) - age range 30 to 39

1,252,239 (14.26%) - age range 40 to 49

1,065,285 (11.04% ) - range between 50 and 59. 

As for the 60-69 year-olds, on the other hand, the non-immunized are 655,501 (8.68%), while among the 70-79 year-olds they are 396,465 (6.59%). Finally, among those over 80, those waiting for the first dose are 189,536 (4.15%). 

"Christmas - continues the general - is a time of shopping and gatherings, but we must continue to be responsible". "The Italians - he added - are teaching the world: the successes we see, which even the international press acknowledges, are thanks to the great Italy team". 

"The situation is evolving and is a treacherous virus that changes especially where vaccination coverage is low" - said in comments Son - as in the case of Omicron variant that we try to counteract running on third doses. " 

75.39% of young people between 12 and 19 years - a total of 3,488,814 - received at least the first dose of the vaccine: this is what emerges from the government report on vaccines. In this same age group, 71, 34% (3,301,071) are immunized with a full course and 80.41% have received at least the first dose, the single dose or are cured of Covid. Two days after the start of the vaccination campaign for age 5- 11, the children vaccinated with the first dose are 15,054 (0.41%). 

"The doses are there - added the Commissioner - I must confirm that over 5.5 million doses already destined for the Regions, from today on 17, 22 and 29 will flow another 5 million, of which more than half will be Pfizer doses ".

This was stated by Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, extraordinary commissioner for the Covid emergency, visiting the Meyer pediatric hospital in Florence: "Others will arrive continuously from January onwards - he added - to allow children to be vaccinated without problems: the organizational machine there is and is moving forward ".
